El Caracas FC y el Deportivo Anzoátegui proseguirán este fin de semana su pugna particular por el título del torneo apertura del fútbol de Venezuela, que cumplirá su décima sexta y penúltima jornada.
Los caraqueños, igualados con 30 puntos junto al Anzoátegui, afrontarán el domingo un compromiso interesante como local frente al Guaros de Lara, que tendrá la baja de siete de sus jugadores, que renunciaron esta semana a la plantilla de los "chivos".
Por su parte, el Anzoátegui será local frente al Deportivo Italia con la obligación de ganar para seguir optando al título del torneo.
Según la base de competiciones del actual torneo, la definición a puntos en el primer lugar, compartido por el Caracas y el Anzoátegui, se determinará por el resultado del encuentro entre sí que ambos disputaron en la sexta jornada y no por la diferencia de goles.
Caracas ganó el único enfrentamiento en el Apertura 2-3 a domicilio en Puerto La Cruz, situación que le permite ser ganador del torneo en caso que ambos lleguen empatados al final del torneo.
El vencedor del torneo apertura asegurará la primera plaza de Venezuela para la edición de 2009 de la Copa Libertadores.
En tanto, el recuperado Deportivo Táchira quiere afianzarse en el tercer lugar del torneo en una complicada visita al Aragua FC, mientras el Unión Atlético Maracaibo será anfitrión del Estrella Roja.
La jornada comenzará este sábado con un encuentro adelantado en el estadio Reinaldo Melo de Barinas, donde el Llaneros de Guanare oficiará de local frente al Carabobo FC, ya que el domingo, el Zamora FC jugará en el mismo escenario ante el Portuguesa FC.
